Ion Charger

Upgrades (Weapon Upgrades)

An ion charger encases a melee weapon in a light ion field that flares to full strength anytime the weapon strikes something. This causes the melee weapon to deal 2d6 EM (Stun) damage in addition to its normal melee damage.

Feats and maneuvers that add to a weapon's damage (such as Rapid Strike) have no effect on the bonus EM damage dealt by a weapon with an ion charger (though the increase the weapon's base damage normally).

Ion chargers are common on vibroblades, and are often referred to as an "ionite edge."
